Who We Are
Fostering Acceptance Advisors hold degrees from top universities and bring experience in admissions, mentorship, advocacy, and professional development.
What We Do
We provide personalized admissions advising to current and former foster youth pursuing ambitious academic goals. Students who have experienced housing instability and school disruptions face unique challenges, and often lack access to the informal networks that make the admissions processes more manageable.
Our Advisors work with students on admissions-related topics including:
-
College and graduate school application strategy
-
School selection and financial aid guidance
-
Personal statements and supplemental essays
-
Resume and extracurricular development
-
Recommendation letter strategy for students with nontraditional educational histories
-
Interview preparation and professional communication
-
Mentorship and access to professional networks
Foster youth belong at selective universities, in graduate programs, and in leadership positions across every profession. Our goal is not simply to help students gain admission, but to help them access opportunities, communities, and careers that may otherwise feel out of reach.
Who We Serve
We advise motivated high school and college students currently or formerly in foster care who are eager to pursue ambitious educational and professional goals. We strive to identify students who would benefit from intensive support and invest deeply in their success.
